Desc: Project Unleashed: Directed by Chip Warren. Project Unleashed follows the personal stories of some of South Central Los Angeles's most marginalized and misunderstood citizens - juveniles and young adults struggling to free themselves from the entanglements of gang life. The program pairs its participants with homeless rescue dogs in an obedience training and re-socialization activities as a means to bolster self-confidence and gain a better understanding of empathy and compassion. For the dogs, it also means a new lease on life as they experience their first truly humane connection with a human being. For both of them, the odds are stacked against them. Adoption rates for homeless dogs is tragically low, and freeing yourself from the deeply entrenched culture of LA gangs is more difficult than simply shedding the colors.
